If you and/or your parents have experienced a decrease in income or a major financial change (special circumstance), or if you have a unique situation that might have changed your dependency status (unusual circumstance), we can review your financial aid eligibility. SIU has proxy access to view student information. This is great for parents and guardians to view financial aid, billing, and registration information. To create proxy access, students should log in to SalukiNet and click on "my records," then navigate to the "Proxy Management" For questions, check here
**Please Note, students will need to establish a passphrase and communicate it to the proxy when setting up access. In order for the proxy to discuss financial aid information (either in person or over the phone) the proxy will need to provide the passphrase that the student has established.
If your financial aid package does not completely pay for your tuition and mandatory fees, we will close the gap. See if you qualify.

A student must submit an appeal to the Financial Aid Office by the deadline date to be considered for financial aid. View Forms
The Retention of Illinois Students & Equity (RISE) Act allows eligible undocumented and DACA students who are disqualified from federal student aid to apply for all forms of state financial aid. To apply for State of Illinois financial aid, these students should complete the Alternative Application for Illinois Financial Aid, which provides a pathway for qualified students to apply for the Monetary Award Program (MAP) grant.

Students may request a 15 minute Virtual Financial Aid Advisement Session through Microsoft TEAMS. Sessions are currently being offered Monday thru Friday 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. by appointment only.
Seeking a professional licensure, certification, or a first professional credential? An allowance for the costs associated with obtaining one of these can be added to your budget. Contact our office to learn what is needed.
